The Pakistan Military Academy, often known as PMA or PMA Kakul, was founded in 1947 to train Pakistani Army officers. It lies in Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, near the village of Kakul.

It is Pakistan's only academy dedicated to the conversion of cadets into army officers.

The PMA comprises 16 companies and four training battalions. Every year, around 2,000 invited guests from 34 countries visit the institution. The PMA sends cadets and commanders from many of Pakistan's closest allies for advanced training in modern military doctrine.

Introduction To The PMA Long Course

• Regular commissioned officers of Combat and Combat Support Arms and Services are eligible to attend the PMA Long Course. The long course lasts two years and is broken into four six-month sessions. After two years of training, cadets graduate as Second Lieutenants.

Eligibility Requirements
